#NaNoWriMo Interview: Michele Richard

Is this your first year doing NaNoWriMo?
Yes it is! I have to say, I am very excited to be doing it.

If yes, why did you decide this was the year?
I'd seen many authors and freinds doing it, but honestly, I never knew how to get involved. This year my editors and most of the authors in my publishing house were doing it so I asked how to get involved. Once they provided me and my partners with the link, we decided to not only support them through time off from their work assignments and giftcards to anyone who won, we decided to write alongside them.

If yes, what is your greatest fear?
My Biggest fear - of course - would be not finishing, or it not being its best, but then I remind myself, once it's written in time, I always have time later to polish it and make it pretty.

How much preparation do you plan to do before November 1st?
Mostly my planning has been around the characters and the setting. Since it's a science fiction having those mapped out before writing is key.

Got anything you'd like to tell us about this years project?
This novel has been brewing for over a year. I had been planning on another one to do for Nano, it refused to wait any longer and demanded to wait any longer.

Anything else you'd like to share?
Just my encouragement! Get it done! You can do it! And Publishers do want to see it!

  1. How cool that you and your partners are supporting the editors at Renaissance Romance Publishing as they feverishly type their way through NaNoWriMo! That is truly awesome. Good luck with your novel this November, Michele, and to your partners and editors.
