#IWSG for December: Hopeful

Can you believe it's time for a new IWSG post? Here in Ecuador summer is starting, the weather is beautiful and I'm enjoying every minute.

Although I'm on an hiatus from writing, the theme for this month's Insecure Writer's Support Group is HOPEFUL.

I resigned from NaNo last month when I realized that my writing was going nowhere. If I were a full-time writer who depended on the income, I would have plowed through and hopefully gotten past the blockage.

But I'm not. I'm retired, living in a foreign country, trying to learn a new language and it all became too much. I know I will write again. I hope my readers will still be waiting when I finally tackle book three in my Klondike Mystery series. I hope I can find new readers (and keep the old ones) when I take a step on the wild side and try some novellas featuring a new character. But regardless, I will write again.

Yes, I am hopeful....

  1. Hello, Donna. :) I haven't been reading blogs like I used to, or should be. I thought you stopped blogging. It's my own fault for letting my blog reading get away so badly, but now I see your new blog and I will make sure to come back. I get taking a break from writing, I probably should just officially take one, but Idk if it'd work out for me. I'm going to have to check out your series though and hopefully you'll find time to write again soon. Glad I found your new blog, hopefully this will help me get back to reading like I should be. (Sorry about my long comment)

    1. It was a tough decision and I don't have kids OR a full-time job. But I do have a life outside of writing. The stress was really getting to me, I felt I wasn't giving my best to anything or anyone. Feeling much better since I decided to not concentrate on any writing until after the first of the year (at a minimum). Hang in there and thanks for finding me again! ;)

  2. And I am hopeful for you!

In the meantime, enjoy your retirement and lovely Ecuador weather. It's getting cold over here in my neighborhood. :)
