Writing on the road....

Authors write in many different ways and many different places. We are currently snowbirds in our 41' toy hauler fifth wheel, enjoying warmer weather in Folkston, GA. (Remember, the back ten feet with the rear awning is ALL garage!)

Gone is my comfortable home office with a huge desk and color laser printer. Same with Stu's desk and side table. In the RV we use the dining room table as our office, with a small HP Inkjet printer (we found for $20 over the holidays). Our file box sits underneath it. Mine is the open laptop in these pics, Stu's is the closed one.

As I've mentioned in the past, I've written entire novels while sitting in a local McDonald's store. The noise doesn't get to me, in fact, I'm more productive because of the lack of "chores" nagging me. LOL!

But if you are truly wondering about authors writing from the road, you need to read this blog post from my good friend and fellow author, Nick Russell. I am far from the only author out there writing while traveling. Check it out!

  1. I love it!
Here, I will happily write in a local coffee shop or deli, but only with paper and pen. Then I can come home and transcribe it into the computer. It's too hot to lug around my laptop.

    1. Thanks so much for stopping by....I have been so swamped that I haven't read any of my favorite blogs (like yours). Hope you are settled in nicely!!

Currently I have both a 13" MacBook Pro and an 11" MacBook Air. I use the Air for travel due to size and weight. I think this or next year I will upgrade to the new 13" MacBook Air with retina display and sell the other two.
