A quote from your favorite book.
Another tough one since once again I have more than one favorite. This time I'm bending the rules and I'm going with a movie quote. The movie was based on the Stephen King novella "Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption". Can you pick just one favorite book with a quote you love? If so, feel free to post it in the comments or post a link to your blog if you're playing along.
"Get Busy Living or Get Busy Dying" ~ Andy Dufresne, "The Shawshank Redemption"
Why is it I can never think of a quote when asked for one? But any other time, a dozen or more are floating in my head.
ReplyDelete"Are you my mother?"
ReplyDeleteI've quoted this silly book for forty years. Mom and I are easily entertained.
So many partial quotes come to mind. This is one I've written down and refer to often.
ReplyDeleteFrom The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett
"God wouldn't make a knife out of wood, or a lady's chemise of shoe leather. You aren't the right material for a life of quietude, and God knows it."
“How nice -- to feel nothing, and still get full credit for being alive.”
