Motivation Monday: Wasting Time

photo copyright DBMcNicol
We all have those days, you know the ones. No matter how hard you try, you can't get motivated to plow through your To Do list. Not even one item! Well, it's time to tell yourself that's okay. We all need downtime. When I was a working professional, I took a "mental health" day once or twice a year. A day for me to do whatever I wanted, even it that was nothing.

We all need time to recharge and in today's electronic society, that is even more difficult. I should know, I stay connected all the time. But I admit to loving my 7-14 day cruises with NO online time. I get to read and relax and feel okay about it.

Do you take time off and do nothing - without feeling guilty? Give it a try!

    1. It's hard to let go, especially in today's always-on technical environment. But it does help you recharge!

  2. Still "working" to find the balance with this. Retirement certainly is an eyeopener. WHAT?? I have value without producing??? :)

    Hey, Stu.... my turn!

    1. I know, we've been slowly trained to think that down time is lazy time is not good for us time. Not so!

  3. I've figured out how to be non-productive and guilt-free on vacations (like a nice cruise) but I still have a problem with just-for-the-heck-of-it "me" days.
