#JUkNOWuCanDoIt: June 29, 2018

Ahhh, June! Fresh air, blooming flowers, a little run, a lot of sun (we hope) and summer vacations. Last month I participated in #MAYkingItWork sponsored by I.L. Wolf on her website. My goals for #MAYkingItWork were to get back to reading (and less writing) and to restart my yoga.

Now it's time for #JUkNOWuCanDoIt and I'm keeping the goal of reading more but am changing my goal of restarting my yoga for just moving more. I will post on Fridays as to how I am doing. Any one can join in - choose a project or two (a goal or three) and post in the comments below or on your own blog (and add a link in the comments).

In addition, I.L. Wolf has now started a long term project, #AccountaClub. I'll be joining in there and hope you will, too. Just use the same (or new) goals for both and at the end of June, continue on with #AccountaClub over at I.L.'s blog.

So, June is done (okay, so there is ONE more day, if you want to get picky about it). And rather than report of my May/June goals, I'm going to set some new ones and join in the #AccountaClub group with I.L. Wolf. Oh, but I did get a LOT more reading done and don't want to stop it...so enjoying it again.

July/August are going to be very busy months for us. We are having built/building a huge pole barn for a garage for hubby. You can follow along as we prep the property, get the initial structure built, and then close it in before he furnishes it to play with cars. {snicker} Backend of Nowhere Garage

By the end of August, I hope to have updated my Paradise Trilogy books so they can be republished on Amazon as well as a print version containing all three stories. That and reading, plus going on adventures, having company, supporting hubby's garage build and taking care of the house and the #2Doods, will keep me busy all summer.

What are your summer plans?

  1. I must go check out your books! Sounds like you have a busy summer.
I, too, have enjoyed reading lately, as I get into researching a new genre. (haha, good excuse, eh?)

This week I finished my first draft, and did a quick read-through to fix simple mistakes and make note of things I need to research, fix, add to, etc. So July will include the research part, some character analyses, as well as looking for more books of a certain type to keep looking forward. Maybe I'll begin an outline on the new story, too.

I expect a lot of time indoors to work on these things. I live in the tropics, but yesterday I actually got a bit of a sunburn for the first time in the month we've lived here. We are truly in the hottest part of the summer, I guess, so I will be cautious.

    1. Ahhh, research. Since I am writing by the seat of my pants, I find myself doing most of my research while I'm writing (since I never know where the story will take me) or during editing (when I find a plot hole or a boo-boo). I know I'd never be able to write historical fiction...lol!

You are definitely in a HOT climate now. I don't deal well with the heat and tend to hibernate most of the summer. Good time for me to write...among all the other chores.

Be sure to check in next week, my first #AccountaClub post.

    2. I did look up quick answers while writing, but I prefer not to break my stride if I'm on a roll. So I have a list of things to look into separately, and I'll plug them all in after I've let it sit. That's the plan, anyway. We'll see how it actually plays out!
      Don't worry, I'll be back!

  2. Here in Florida I tend to stay in during the summer and catch up on decluttering & organization projects. Plus I sleep a lot!

    1. I tend to stay up late and sleep in...and hibernate in the A/C. Reverse bear? LOL!
