#AtoZchallenge: Zigzag or Zigzag

Zigzag [Spanish] or Zigzag [English]
[source]
She skipped down the rickety wooden trail zig-zagging towards the woods, singing a little ditty about fairies and fireflies.

The sun was directly overhead, hiding her shadow and so bright it hid something behind her, something carefully tracing her footsteps.

As she headed deeper and deeper into the woods, the trail got harder to follow but that didn't deter her, no, not one little bit.

This was a journey she had dreamed about, over and over again, a journey to a destination beyond her most vivid dreams.

Her song transformed into a whistled tune as the woods darkened around her, their canopy hiding the sun behind their thick greenery.

Her tracker moved with calculated silence, maintaining a safe distance but never losing sight of her.

She stopped short as the woods opened into a wide meadow filled with wildflowers and butterflies, all kissed by the sun.

Behind her she heard a soft voice, "Is this all you dreamed of?"

"Oh yes," she sighed, "and so much more."

She held out her hand for the butterflies, standing still as they covered her with soft wings, slowly transforming into one of them as the glittering fairy behind her smiled.
