In 2010 I rode the longest, highest, fastest zip-line (at that time) in Hoonah, Alaska. To me, that was adventurous.
This summer I am considering doing a tandem sky dive in honor of my late step-son. To me, that will REALLY be adventurous!
I won't be scuba diving with hubby, I panic when my head is underwater. But I do want to try white water rafting someday along with a hot air balloon ride.
I don't know why I am trying all these things in my late 50's and 60's. But if not now, then when?
What have you dared to do that you never thought you would? Got something adventurous on your bucket list?
I've said it before, and I'll say it again. You give the rest of us courage. You be careful!
ReplyDeleteDonna, sounds like you're having lots of fun!!
ReplyDeleteWhy are you trying all these things in your late 50's and 60's? Mmm... are you by any chance a "closet adrenaline-junkie"? LOL
Thinking back over my life, I have engaged in several adventures: but none of them were of my choosing. Living in a haunted house or being tossed in a jail cell with a man who had offered to murder me a few weeks before may not compare with the longest, highest zip line in the world, but it was exciting enough for me.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely, KD. I'm nothing if not cautious. LOL!!
ReplyDeleteHmmm, don't think so. I think it's finally letting loose of the inner me. I spent too many years being the "professional" that never let her hair down...literally. ;-)
ReplyDeleteUmmm, Doug....I'll take my adventures over yours. LOL!
ReplyDeleteA hot air balloon ride, eh? I heard that the local women's writers club went for a hot air balloon ride last week. The pilot still hasn't been able to get the balloon down on the ground.
ReplyDeleteStopping in to let you know that I have some awards for you on my blog.

I hear the SKP Boomers are the group to go balloon riding with. A whole week of fun (hopefully in the sun) crewing for the flyers usually gets you a free ride.
ReplyDeleteI think "adventure" is a relative term; what one person find 'daring' another may find 'boring'. It all depends on the person's fears etc. If you find something adventurous, then it is!! Why do it now? Why not! Good for you, taking on these challenges. I hope you keep it up :)
ReplyDeleteI'm enjoying your blog and look forward to reading more of your anecdotes.

You sound pretty adventurous. I used to be a SCUBA diving instructor. It was a lot of fun. I'd still like to sky dive. Maybe someday...
ReplyDeleteThanks so much...will post next week after I recover from the Music Fest. LOL! ;-)
ReplyDeleteI'm more thinking a scenic dawn ride with Mimosas and croissants. LOL! ;-)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sarah, for your comments AND stopping by! I hope I continue to post things you enjoy. That's what it's all about!
ReplyDeleteIt's looking slim on the sky dive...seems like I've done something to my shoulder. Will know more in another week or so. Sigh....will keep it on the bucket list if i don't make it this time.
ReplyDeleteThe changes I am making on my blog feel a bit like stepping into a free fall! :)
ReplyDeleteAdventures, I love adventures. Have been bungee jumping, ziplining, rappeling, working as a gate guard in a south Texas oilfield in summer, riding the highest, fastest rollercoasters in the U.S. (all in my 50s--except bungee jumping when I was in my late 30s).
ReplyDeleteFor my 60th birthday we're taking a month-long trip to Australia!! Woo hoo!

Love the post as always donne. Recent sdventures for me have been writing and exhibiting my paintings. Enough adrenalin from those to keep me going.
ReplyDeleteI do fancy a trip around Europe on my own though so must start planning.
Change can be a good thing.... ;-)
ReplyDeleteLOL! Definitely adventurous...I don't do roller coasters and doubt I'll ever rappel or bungee jumo.
ReplyDeleteNow a trip to Oz...that is FIRMLY on the bucket list for both of us! Can't wait to hear about it.
Great adventures for sure....my grandson just spent 6 months in Europe. Amazing photos...I expect the same from you. ;-)
