So much happens in 300 words. This could easily be expanded to saga levels. Great job. Thanks for the story.
ReplyDeleteThis flowed so wonderfully. I can't believe you told so much in so few words.
ReplyDeleteThis is really great on its own, and yet also feels like it could be the beginning of something much larger.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to agree with M Pepper up there. I hope you're planning on fleshing this out to a full short story or more. =)
ReplyDeleteYes, it's a well structured piece with resolution, but I would love to know more about the world you've created.
ReplyDeleteAgain, thank you all for you kind comments. Now I'll have to consider the idea of doing something more with this at some future date. ;-)
ReplyDeleteInteresting and very descriptive. Very nice all around.

ReplyDeleteI'll announce the finalists tomorrow.
excellent scene! i'd love to know more!
ReplyDeleteI was going to say what Cherie said; that this self-contained tale could be the prelude to a sweeping sage. I'd love to read more about a female Chosen One! :-)
ReplyDeleteSome Dark Romantic
Thanks everyone for reading and commenting. I'll be saving this for a prologue for a future novel/novelette.
ReplyDeleteI hope you all have visited Cherie's page and checked out her six finalists. Some amazing writing...I had a hard time choosing just one!
Great story! Mine got a little out of control and ended up a bit longer than 300 words. Check it out:
