"Oh, the places we will go" - Ecuador & Epcot #atozchallenge

Ecuador was a big part of our life, living their for two years. We lived in Cuenca, high up in the Andes Mountains at approximately 8,400 feet. A UNESCO heritage city, we fell in love with the history and beauty of the area.

But it was the people that were truly amazing. Warm, welcoming but with a few quirks (at least for us Norte Americanos). MaƱana didn't necessarily mean tomorrow, it meant, not today. Events, dinners, parties - it was the norm to be several hours late, often not starting until 10-11pm even though the invitation said 7-8pm.

The children were gorgeous, full of playfulness but still steeped in tradition. The scenery was breathtaking and the climate wonderful. But the fresh fruits and vegetables - we still miss those (and the prices).

And we found humor everywhere, even in a two story department store in a mall. Yes, they were pushing the carts up to the second floor via the escalator.

You can read out entire blog about preparing, moving, living there and coming back, HERE. You can see all the photos we took HERE.
