Las Vegas can be a fun place to visit with something for everyone. We have made a couple of trips there and hope to go again, soon. |
Our first trip to Vegas was in March of 2010 in our RV and we parked in the KOA campground at Circus-Circus. I hadn't been to Vegas since a business trip in the late 80's. Boy, had it ever changed! We'd gone to Las Vegas to see The Lion King (Mandalay Bay Hotel) and Garth Brooks (Wynn Hotel) as well as some general sightseeing on the strip and Fremont Street, topped with stopping in the store featured on TV in Pawn Stars.
Our second trip was more spur of the moment. We had points that were going to expire so we used them to fly, found a great deal at the Planet Hollywood hotel and off we went. We bought tickets for a couple of the half price shows, bought Stu a beanie due to the cold weather, had dinner at the top of the Stratosphere, visited Fremont St at night, went to a female impersonator show and just generally acted liked tourists. Fun!
Our third trip was on our way back from Route 66. We stayed a bit longer than planned due to my injury (trying to hold my motorcycle upright when it started to fall, pulled every muscle down my right side). We stayed off-strip (just off) at the Tuscany Suites. We learned it used to be a Best Western. We got a great rate and would stay there again. We enjoyed visiting Count's Kustoms and Rick's Restorations
BONUS: Leesburg (FL) Bike Fest
