Kansas - middle of the country. Flat, plains, wheat, pioneers - that's what most people think of when they think of this state. |
In 2005, I rode the country on my Harley-Davidson motorcycle as a new widow at age 58. One thing I enjoyed about the trip was seeing all the murals in the small towns. Many depicted the history of the town and it's early settlers.
I stopped in small town for lunch, Syracuse, Kansas (pop 1,800+-). While there, I snapped these photos.
I wish I had kept a photo album of all the murals I saw as I traveled. They were wonderful!
My other visit to Kansas involved a beloved movie icon - Towmater - in Galena, KS.
