He was okay...for now. No one knew where he was, no one could hurt him. This was his safe place, the one spot where he could be himself and try to forget. Forget who he was, forget what they said about him, forget what they did to him.
Oooh sinister! I wonder what he has in store for them all :o
ReplyDeleteWhen I think of boarded up houses I think of the second or third season of The Wire when they were leaving bodies in the boarded up row houses in Baltimore. Guess they couldn't plot out the knot hole though.

ReplyDeleteSo are you just storing these up and someday you will write around them? Or do you already have the "rest of the story" written and you are just teasing us all?
ReplyDeleteThis one seems to be written from a young person's viewpoint, or an adult in a child's frame of mind. Interesting how you can make us pose so many questions about what might be next in store.
...or maybe he's a termite who's going to eat through the wood so that the whole building comes tumbling down on the people below!

Several of these have taken on a life of their own when I wrote them...some may get expanded into short stories, some maybe more. Time will tell!
